- Modify the configuration of the PLC adaptor, that it supports HomePlug Green Phy including the SLAC.
- Install wireshark to view the network traffic
- Optional: Install the Plugin for Wireshark from https://github.com/geynis/v2g-ws-dissectors, to decode the V2GTP. This does NOT decode the EXI itself.

## Wireshark EXI decoder plugin
To view the content of the EXI encoded network packages, the Wireshark can be extended with a decoder plugin. This is available https://github.com/ChargePoint/wireshark-v2g
* Installation hints for Windows: At the time of writing, the readme says "copy the v2gexi.dll to %APPDATA%/Wireshark/plugins/4.2/epan". This means, the plugin does not work with other Wireshark versions than 4.2. Just using a more recent wireshark (4.4) and renaming the folder to "4.4" leads to the error message "Plugin was compiled for 4.2". So the solution is, to install Wireshark 4.2.
* Even if the ChargePoint readme talks about "building", there is no need to build, if we just want to use the existing decoder. The only steps necessary are:
* install the wireshark 4.2 (also 4.2.9 works). This is available at https://www.wireshark.org/download.html
* download the decoder plugin (tar file) from https://github.com/ChargePoint/wireshark-v2g/releases/download/v0.8.0/v2g-v0.8.0-win64.tar
* unzip the tar
* copy the v2g.lua to %APPDATA%/Wireshark/plugins
* copy the v2gexi.dll to %APPDATA%/Wireshark/plugins/4.2/epan (If the subdirectory "4.2" does not exist, then just create it.)
* you do NOT need the Wireshark-4.2.6-GithubActionBuild-x64.exe which is also included in the tar.
* restart Wireshark. In the Help->AboutWireshark, you should see the version 4.2 (or 4.2.9 or similar), and in the "Plugins" tab there should be the exi.lua and the v2gexi.dll listed.
